It’s been a minute or two since I’ve done one of these posts. I’ve always liked writing these posts, and always loved reading other people’s posts like this, so I thought I’d pop in today with some of my recent favorite things.
I’ve never been one for intros or conclusions (I mean, is it just me or don’t people just scan those anyway??), so let’s get right to it!
My sister got me one of these for Christmas, and I love it! I’ve never had a personal planner before, but I’m really enjoying having everything in one place. I love all the different boxes to make notes, write my to-do list for the day, and I even have room to write my meal plan. I’ve been using some of the space as a sort of journal, to write down funny things the boys might have said or done, or anything notable that’s happened that day that I might want to remember.
In a life with four boys, one of them being a 3 months old, it is never quiet in our house. That makes sleeping or resting of any kind at times near impossible.
We’ve used fans as white noise in the past, and while this works well in the summer, during the winter months the rooms get downright chilly. I finally decided to break down and purchase a couple sound machines (this is the one I bought) and I haven’t regretted it. I’ve had one sound machine in the little boys’ room for about 6 months now, and it’s worked so well we got one for the big boys room too. I even got one for my parent’s house, where we spend a lot of time and the boys sometimes nap.
The sounds are very soothing, they cover up almost all the noise going on outside the bedrooms, and I truly feel like my kids now sleep better.
Maybe I’m late to the game with the whole wallet/phone case thing, but I recently purchased this one, and I am surprised at how much I love it.
My phone is a couple years old (we’re trying to milk em before we upgrade. #savingmoney), and the case was falling apart. It was time to get a new one. And given that I’m not really using a purse these days since I’m hauling around a diaper bag for two, I really wanted an all-in-one option.
When I found this phone case, I was a little hesitant that I would like it. I didn’t know how it would work to have my phone more or less permanently attached to my wallet. Making phone calls and texting and such. But I actually really like it! It’s perfect for what I was looking for. The phone fits in really snugly, it’s definitely not going anywhere. I can fit cash, all my cards, and drivers license inside.
Anyone else potty training?
We just began potty training our 2 (almost 3) year old a couple weeks ago, and let me tell you. These seats. Are a lifesaver. But, why. Just seriously, why…did I never know about these 2 kids ago???
The beauty of these seats are that they are regular toilet seats. Except when your potty trainer needs to go potty. You can pull down the smaller seat, which is magnetized to the toilet seat cover, and voila! You have a smaller potty seat. Then when said potty trainer is done, you flip the small seat back up and it tucks nicely in to the toilet seat cover, and no one is none the wiser.
No more need to whip out the detachable potty seat. No more separate tiny toilet. You now have one, universal potty seat that fits all requirements.
We installed one in our main level bathroom, and one in the boys’ upstairs bathroom. So far it’s worked out beautifully.
I am reminded over the last several weeks of my sugar fast how much I use and love my Cuisinart Food Processor. I use my food processor at least once, if not twice, per week, and I only use it more often when I’m trying to eat healthier.
I love making various types of energy balls and homemade Larabars as snacks when I’m sugar-free (and bonus – The Picky Ones, aka my children, love them too!), and you can’t make most of these recipes without a food processor. (I will have to post some of my favorite recipes soon, if you can even call them that. More often than not I’m just throwing a bunch of things together that sound good at the time, and blending them until I can form balls. Oh well, they taste delicious!)
It might be the best kitchen appliance I’ve ever spent money on!
That’s it for now! Have a great week!
