I didn’t have many new products I loved in April so I decided to skip it, but I’m back with a few of my favorite things for May. Here are some things I’ve been loving lately…

If you’re looking for a well-fitting, comfortable hoodie, look no further my friends! My biggest problem with most women’s hoodie’s is that they’re either a) not comfortable, or b) not very attractive or flattering. But let me tell you, this sweatshirt is BOTH!
This has become my absolute hands-down favorite sweatshirt EVER. I broke down and bought two and I wear one almost everyday I’m not working at the office. They are lightweight, comfortable, and long enough to fully cover a long torso (like mine). Yes, they are a little pricey for sweatshirts, but they are SO worth it.
Now that our oldest has gotten a little older, we have been allowing him to read in bed for a while before turning the lights out for bedtime. And since the older two share a room, whatever big brother does, little brother MUST do, too. So we purchased these book lights which clip on to their books allowing them to read for a while longer at night. They LOVE them. They’re rechargeable with the on/off switch on top which gives two brightness settings, though we’ve found the lower setting works perfectly well. What I love most is that the boys get so excited to read now, and I really can’t argue with that!
As a child, we did TONS of reading. My sister and I still to this day would choose reading over any other relaxing activity. I’m always encouraging our boys to read, and our oldest has been really enjoying this series. He’s currently on book #8 and reading like a champ. I’d definitely recommend these books for a young reader!
I realized I’ve never written about one of my most beloved items…my Kindle! I’ve been doing a bit more reading this month (stay tuned for my book reviews), so I’ve brought the ol’ Kindle back out. I forgot how much I love it. Let me be honest here, I resisted the Kindle for a LONG time. I had no desire to take away from reading an actual book. I like the feel of the pages between my fingers – something tangible in this increasingly digital world. And I still do love reading a physical book. BUT. What I love about my Kindle is that I can store hundreds of books in one tiny device, I can quickly download new books from virtually anywhere, and it makes reader THAT much more convenient.
I knew I wanted to go with the Paperwhite because it’s just like reading on actual paper. The light is dim and muted, thus reducing screen glare which is hard on the eyes. It’s also extremely lightweight – making one handed reading simple (hello, multitasking mom!) and easy on the wrists.
I will say this – the Kindle is not an alternative to a tablet. At least mine’s not. Trying to download books via wi-fi on the actual Kindle is a daunting, painfully slow process. I prefer to buy my books either on my phone or desktop and have them automatically sync with my Kindle, which means I must have wireless internet in order to make that happen. Easy enough – I simply download all my books prior to leaving the house.
This is, by far, my new favorite lip balm. I first discovered this lip balm a few years ago, but it was quickly lost and I promptly forgot it’s existence. I picked some up the other day at the store, and I forgot how much I love this stuff! It glides on easily, is very hydrating, and has a fun shape. Just keep a lookout with the kiddos – my boys love the smell so much that I once caught my 4 year old taste-testing.
That’s it for me this month!
