I can’t believe February is already over!
Here’s a short recap of our month:
The older boys completed their first round of swimming lessons, which they loved. Baby Boy turned one! My husband and I started a marriage bible study class, which turned out to be awesome. We both got so much out of it. And of course, Valentine’s Day, which we don’t usually celebrate much in the traditional sense, anyway. We got a card and something small for the boys and called it a day.
Moving right along to a few of my favorite finds this month! Completely unintentionally, a good portion ended up being baby related- go figure.
Noah got this for his birthday. Let me tell you, he absolutely LOVES it. It’s so perfect for a one year old, because he can use it to hang on to while he stands (he’s not quite walking yet, but so close!). He can also sit in it, and the steering wheel has a bunch of buttons that make all kinds of fun sounds. It has a buckle-type enclosure to make sure he won’t fall out.
My favorite feature on this bad boy? The parent handle! It’s basically a glorified stroller, he just doesn’t know it. I’ll stick him in here and push him around the house while I do things like: go potty, switch and/or fold laundry, make lunch, etc. And while all along he just thinks he’s playing with his cool new toy, little does he know it’s actually mommy’s newest sanity saving stroller.
I LOVE this thing! One of the girls at work talked me into buying it, and I’m so glad I did! Why has it taken me 3 children to finally break down and purchase one? I know why…the price tag can be a little intimidating. But so far, it has been absolutely worth it! I can’t speak for using it for a tiny baby- I know that will require an additional newborn insert- but for a larger baby, this carrier is absolutely ideal.
It has a zip pocket in the front for your cell phone and keys. It’s also much more comfortable for me, and it holds him so much better that my previous baby carrier (which was a Baby Bjorn. Those are great for babies under 6 months, but once the baby gets too big it becomes cumbersome). He didn’t even mind being carried on the front, which he normally doesn’t care for. I’ve been told the position older babies love best is on the back, but I haven’t tried this yet. (I’m still trying to figure out how I’m going to get him on my back on my own). I’m sure he will love that even more, and then refuse to go on the front, so I’m actually kind of holding off on that one. And the best part? I found it used on Craigslist for $60! Win!
This was another birthday gift for the big boy. He loves it! At one point, it actually looked like he might pass out from the swaying motion. It was pretty funny/adorable/slightly sad because he clearly needed a nap.
It’s most definitely a work in progress, and while I’m no Decorator Extraordinaire by any means, I still love the way that it turned out! It looks so much better than what we had on this wall previously- a sad, lone family photo. I’m still going to great lengths to slowly and painfully consider what’s going to happen with the rest of my walls…
Seriously, I’ve been totally nerding out over this ever since my post went live on MoneySavingMom.com Saturday. It’s been a great learning experience and growth for me on the blog.
That’s all for this month, folks! I’ll be back sharing my favorite things at the end of March.
